My Story

I was diagnosed with coeliac disease 15 years ago after many years of fatigue and tummy problems. My health improved dramatically once I was on a gluten-free diet. Coeliac disease is a serious autoimmune condition that affects 1 in 100 people in the UK. Only 36% are medically diagnosed, leaving a staggering 64% living undiagnosed, often with debilitating symptoms. Coeliac UK has been a mine of helpful information and resources ever since I was diagnosed, and I'm delighted to be raising funds and awareness to support their important work.

Last May, I hosted my first ever tea party in support of Coeliac UK, offering over 64 home-made cupcakes and bakes. It was fantastic to raise awareness in the community, and to bring local coeliacs together to share experiences and tips while enjoying delicious gluten-free cakes. It was such a success, it spurred me on to launch my very own tiny gluten-free microbakery!

This May, I'm planning to host another tea party for Coeliac UK - supported again by a brilliant posse of helpers, other local coeliacs and, this year, other local gluten-free food businesses who will generously be donating their bakes alongside my own, to make it even more of a community event... and an even more fabulous opportunity for fellow coeliacs to come and enjoy a wonderful gluten-free spread!

If would like to support this tea party for Coeliac UK but can't attend, or if you would prefer to donate online, please donate here - thank you.
