Claud Crazy Coeliac
My Story
I’ve been living with coeliac disease for just over three years now… but for most of my life, I had never even heard of it.
I was constantly exhausted, dealing with mood swings, brain fog, and mouth ulcers. I knew something wasn’t right, but coeliac disease never crossed my mind. It wasn’t included in routine testing at my GP, so eventually I took matters into my own hands and paid for private testing.
The results were a turning point. My vitamin levels were dangerously low, and I was diagnosed with coeliac disease.
Looking back, I only wish I’d known sooner.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Like so many others, my first port of call was Coeliac UK. At the time, I felt completely lost. But they gave me the knowledge, support, and confidence to take control of my health. Thanks to them, I now feel like myself again… 100% better.
And that’s why this matters so much.
Coeliac disease affects 1 in 100 people in the UK, yet only 36% are diagnosed. That means a staggering 64% are living undiagnosed, often struggling with symptoms they can’t explain.
That’s exactly why Coeliac Awareness Month is so important.
So… let’s make some noise about it 🎉
The Gluten Free Toast is back on the road!
Starting from the iconic Land's End, I’ll be touring the UK, visiting incredible gluten free businesses, meeting the amazing community behind them, and spreading awareness (with a generous helping of fun along the way).
I’ll be travelling with my Coeliac Teddy mascot and my trusty orange-stickered suitcase — you won’t miss me 👀🍞
How you can get involved:
✨ eBay Fundraiser
I’m running an auction throughout the month with 64 amazing items up for grabs, raising money for Coeliac UK: https://ebay.us/m/nlT88a
✨ Exclusive Pins
“I tolerate a lot of things but not gluten” enamel pins
£3 each or 2 for £5
Simply donate on my page and I’ll pop one in the post to you!
✨ Small Change, Big Difference
Along the journey, I’m also collecting small change donations — because those loose coins really do add up. Whether it’s the spare change in your pocket or a quick tap-to-donate, every little contribution helps support awareness, research and those living with coeliac disease.
✨ Businesses – get involved!
I’d love to visit you! I can swing by with some gluten free treats, bring a bit of fun for your team, and help raise awareness.
Or, if you’d like your sticker or branding featured on the Gluten Free Toast or my Cute Orange Suitcase as I travel the country, I’m very happy to showcase it in return for a donation.
This journey is about turning something that once felt overwhelming into something visible and positive.
Let’s raise awareness. Let’s raise funds. And let’s make sure fewer people are left wondering what’s wrong.
🍞💛
